Content Strategist for EU Projects (Freelance)

Company Overview

The Little Voice is a committed creative agency, working across disciplines to help brands cut through the noise. We craft campaigns that awaken the inner voice (the one that moves people to choose, to stand up, to engage) and turn that momentum into movements leading to cultural, social, and economic impact.

Position Overview

The Content Strategist guide the content approach for multiple communication projects for the European Union and other international organisations, turning complex topics into engaging, audience-friendly stories. From developing a content strategy to keeping the editorial calendar humming, you’ll be at the heart of how we communicate with European audiences

Key Responsibilities

1/ Strategy and messaging

  • Writing content strategies contributing to communication efforts, turning project goals into impactful plans tailored for EU audiences.
  • Messaging and concept development: shaping narratives and creative concepts that give campaigns a strong backbone.
  • Translate strategies and house of messaging into content pillars, tone of voice, and creative frameworks for all relevant channels.
  • Develop messaging and narrative approaches considering machines as secondary readers, so generative engines can integrate resurface content correctly.

2/ Content creation & Editorial excellence

  • Owning the content calendar, from research to concepts, and coming up with fresh ideas for campaigns and social channels.
  • Systematic SEO and GEO-driven approaches, ensuring the work encapsulates metadata, captions, alt-text, and consistency of phrasing – on top of channels specifications.

3/ Monitoring and performance

  • Analyse content performance and audience behaviour to optimize ongoing strategies and deliver actionable insights.
  • Social Listening (using tools such as Talkwalker) to monitor conversations, identify opportunities, and refine approaches.
  • Testing AI prompts interrogation machines on projects’ topics, to see if branded content gets surfaced – closing the loop between publishing, audience reception, and AI visibility.

 4/ Leadership, collaboration and growth

  • Working closely with copywriters to review content and ensure a consistent voice and high editorial standards.
  • Client-facing leadership: leading client discussions on content, presenting ideas confidently, and advising on best practices.
  • Teaming up with strategists, media and content production specialists, and creatives to align content with promotional strategies.
  • Helping to develop proposals and creative concepts for new business efforts.

Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience in a communication or creative agency, with a growth record in the expertise.
  • Strong understanding of content principles, their application in communication strategies, and how technology impacts the work and how it needs to be integrated and leveraged.
  • Deep understanding of digital platforms, audience behaviours, and the content lifecycle across web, social, video, podcast, and emerging media.
  • Experience working in or alongside creative, digital, or advertising teams in a fast-paced agency or consultancy setting.
  • Strong analytical mindset with proven experience using content metrics, SEO and GEO principles, and audience insights.
  • Ability to lead and inspire — both teams and clients — through the power of story and strategy.
  • Fluent in Dutch and French, with English at C2 level.

Guiding principles (aka our non-negotiables)

Soulful (do it with sincerity).

Being human means being clear, direct, and kind with clients, partners, and within the team. It means listening actively, speaking without detours, and creating a climate of trust where everyone can show up as themselves. This sincerity changes everything: in our relationships and in our campaigns. We don’t play roles, we act with heart, and it shows.

Connected minds (truly create together).

We believe in the power of the collective. No silos, no egos. At The Little Voice, ideas circulate freely. We co-create with our clients and colleagues, share responsibilities, and welcome different perspectives. The best solutions are born from dialogue, friction, and diversity of views. And together is the only way we go further.

Fired up (light the fuse).

Commitment isn’t a posture, it’s energy. The drive to act, to push forward, to move the lines. It’s also an entrepreneurial spirit: taking ownership, going the extra mile, proposing instead of waiting. Being fired up means carrying that inner spark that turns an idea into a movement, a conviction into results.

Unapologetic (dare without excuses).

Not to shock, but because strong ideas need freedom. We look for the angle nobody else saw, the word that hits, the visual that shakes things up. Being bold means refusing blandness in a world that’s too polished. It’s allowing a step sideways, a twist, a surprise. Injecting a bit of rock’n’roll into every project, always relevant, always sharp.

Iconic (sweat every last detail).

An idea only makes impact if it’s delivered right. At The Little Voice, meaning and form always go hand in hand. Design, tone, details, everything matters. We aim for aesthetics that are sharp, consistent, and memorable. A strong visual identity that lingers. Even an email can be crafted. Even a slide, a tagline, a poster. Because what we show is who we are.
